BREAKING FREE MINISTRIES was founded in 1994 in Lawrence, Kansas and is registered in the State of Mississippi.
Welcome to Breaking Free Ministries: God wants you to be aware of man's philosophies, human thinking, and the spiritual powers of this world (Col. 2:8-10) . He knows you will encounter difficulties, going against some of your present biblical Christian traditions and beliefs, but He has given you or will give you His Holy Spirit (I Cor. 3: 16; Acts 5:32) to guide you (John 16:13). Christ said we must worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). God wants to reach as many as possible who has eyes to see and ears to hear (Isaiah 32:3; Proverbs 20:12; Matthew 13:16).
OUR MISSION/VISION AND CALL
~ Guide individuals into a personal relationship with the risen Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Too often Christians NEVER get to know Jesus Christ nor the Father on a personal level.
~ Obey Christ’s command to train individuals to be disciples of Christ through “Discipleship Bible Training School” (click on this for more information on the school). We will help men and women grow in the knowledge God (II Peter 1:2; 3:18) so they can carry out God’s commission, “the ministry of reconciliation” (II Cor.5:18-19), which is Christ died on the Cross for their sins, that God is not imputing their sins on them, if they accept Christ’s offer as their sacrificial lamb.
~ Guide individuals into discovering and understanding their spiritual gifts and talents.
~ Inform African-Americans and Africans about their true biblical history, and identity. Black history began in the book of Genesis with Adam and Eve; it is not one of only slavery and poverty, but also of kingship and richness. The black race is neither inferior or superior.
~ To see the Body of Christ functioning as One unified body with all its members having full and equal participation in the building up of the Bride, the Body of Christ. This means the restoration of the family of God to the biblical models not the worldly, earthly models sustained by traditions of men and male domination and oppression. The model that we emulate is in Ephesians 5, a Body with Christ as the Head with all the members being held to the highest standards of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not regarding race, gender or economic statue. This entails seeing all the members, male and female, using their spiritual gifts and natural talents to build this Spiritual Sanctuary. This means, in the Body of Christ, gender is not a factor because God does not see as man sees. In His sight there is neither male nor female, Jew or Greek, slave nor free (Gal.3:28).
~ It is our call to see marriages operate under the principles and outline of Ephesians 5, which symbolizes Christ and the Bride, His church. We are to make our physical marriages of male and female with Jesus as the center of our lives. Husband as Priest of the his home demonstrating the command in Ephesians to lay down his life for his wife and children as Christ did for His Bride, the Body of Christ – not to abuse, oppress, dominate and destroy them.

OUR PAST MINISTRY HISTORY - FREEDOM CAFÉ (←click to see slideshow)
Breaking Free Ministry previously had its Discipleship Headquarters and Ministry base in the State of Maine at Freedom Cafe. Freedom Café was our discipleship headquarters, a ministry of evangelism and discipleship training since 1999. Like Paul, Freedom Café served as God’s tent making ministry and a discipleship headquarters. Since opening in 1999 God has sent over seventy souls to Breaking Free Ministry, first, witnessed to and won to the Lord; secondly, to be healed and be disciple. In these fourteen years both disciple and teacher have learned valuable wisdom and instructions from God on discipleship, its content, its practice and how to bring about God results.
Freedom Café was a unique ministry ordained by God to reach and disciple souls. It defies all human reasons and goes against society’s prejudices and predictions. It is a ministry of unconditional love and acceptance. It is a unique experience in what God’s community looks like in the book of Acts. It defies racial stereotypes with two African American Christians serving physical soul food as well as the real food of the soul – the gospel of Jesus Christ, in a state that is 98% white. This ministry of Jesus Christ crosses all cultural and racial barriers of our day. It defies racial, gender and economic prejudices in its pursuit of spiritual mentoring and discipleship of souls. Breaking Free Ministries ministers to Generation X, Y and Z as well as baby boomers. It represents the Body of Christ working for the good of each member. It represents God’s family in that we are spiritual parents to a host of young adults. Just like Jesus, Breaking Free Ministries does not focus on race, gender, economic status but souls that need to be saved and restored.

PURPOSE OF DISCIPLESHIP
- To help believers become grounded in the Word of God so that their lives can be transformed; to find God’s destiny for their lives and ministry.
- Second emphasis is on the healing and restoration of fallen sinful men and women, to help heal victims of sexual, verbal, domestic abuse, addictions and all the ills of this world. BFM will have workshops and writings designed to teach and heal which are available for churches and organizations wanting to start a ministry to this much neglected segment of the body of Christ.
- Thirdly, our mission is to elevate women to their rightful place in the Body of Christ as full and equal participation in the spiritual work of building the Body of Christ, His Bride
